1. What is the Sri Lanka Taxi Charter Service?

Answer : Sri Lanka Taxi Charter Service is an online ground-transport matchmaking service operated by the Hong Kong company Sri Lanka Taxi Charter Service International Limited. We primarily connect Japanese travelers with tourist drivers registered with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) — holders of a Tourist Driver Licence. The transport contract is concluded directly between the traveler and the driver; we do not provide transportation ourselves.

  • Itinerary advice & route suggestions (Japanese support available): We listen to your preferences and propose practical touring plans (advice only).
  • Driver arrangement: As a rule, we arrange SLTDA-registered tourist drivers. Requests for Japanese-speaking drivers are accommodated where available. If supply is tight, we may offer lawful alternatives, such as vehicles arranged through SLTDA-registered travel companies or licensed taxis.
  • Payments: Card payments on this site are for our service fee only. Driver fares are paid in full, directly to the driver on site (e.g., in LKR, as agreed). We do not receive, hold, or distribute driver funds.

Note: We are neither a travel agency nor a transport operator. Prices and conditions are agreed directly between the traveler and the driver. We verify driver registration status as part of our onboarding.

2. Will I be able to meet my driver without any problems?

Answer: Yes. We send you the driver’s contact details before departure so you can reach out in advance. You can also contact us by e‑mail or via our local help desk if anything unexpected occurs.

3. Will a competent, punctual driver with good driving skills show up?

Answer: Absolutely. We hire only high‑quality drivers and provide training materials that address points Japanese guests care about. We also work hard to prevent misunderstandings caused by cultural differences.

4. What if I decide to visit a different place after I arrive?

Answer: Free route changes; no limits on distance or time. There are no additional driver fees.

5. Can I communicate smoothly with an English‑speaking driver?

Answer: Yes. You may even request a Japanese‑speaking driver, and our Japanese help desk is always available, so language will not be an issue.

6. What happens if an accident or other unforeseen trouble occurs?

Answer: We prioritise safety and support, coordinating with local partners if issues arise.

7. What if my schedule changes at the last minute?

Answer: Up to and including 7 days before the trip start date: No cancellation fee. Any agency service fee you have already paid to us will be fully refunded.
From 2 to 6 days before the trip start date (inclusive): Our agency service fee is non-refundable (an amount equal to the fee will be charged/treated as a cancellation fee).
From the day before the trip start date onward (including the day before and the day of the trip): No refunds will be issued for any reason. Any agency service fee already paid will be retained by us in full as a cancellation fee and cannot be refunded. The same applies in the case of a no-show.

8. Will it be hot during transfers?

Answer: No. All vehicles are private cars equipped with air‑conditioning, ensuring a comfortable journey. (Buses and trains in Sri Lanka often lack A/C, carry pickpocket risks, and may be full.)

9. Can I use this service for corporate or business travel?

Answer: Yes. Corporate and business users are very welcome, and many major companies have been highly satisfied with our service. Please contact us for details.

10. What should I see in Sri Lanka?

Answer: Our local supervisor—an expert on Sri Lanka—will quickly and carefully learn your wishes and create a custom plan. Consultation and itinerary planning are completely free, so feel free to contact us even if you are only considering a trip.
