To be honest, I initially thought the price was high. After having him drive us throughout the trip, however, I no longer felt it was expensive.
His driving was excellent, and we always felt safe in the car. We had not made a detailed schedule, but he responded flexibly and made the trip very comfortable.
Because the journey from the airport to the World Heritage sites is so long, we considered booking a taxi. However, we did not know who the driver would be and felt uneasy about asking a stranger to drive for hours late at night, so we agonised over the decision.
While researching, we found the excellent reviews for LankaMe. Knowing that Japanese support was available gave us confidence, so we decided to book.

Randika was calm and endearing, and even after spending many hours together, we never felt the need to be overly considerate around him. We felt completely at ease.

The driver was serious and didn't talk much, but that was a plus, and we were able to move around comfortably without even playing music.
He also drove very safely. On the other hand, the restaurants that the driver stopped at along the way were in the high price range, perhaps aimed at tourists, and even when we requested a reasonably priced restaurant, we were never presented with any options.
The restaurant on the mangrove boat we went to on the last day also seemed very expensive, so when we skipped it and headed to another restaurant, when we told them the conditions at the other restaurant, they seemed a little dissatisfied and said, ``In that case, you can eat the same food at the restaurant you went to earlier.''
Even though we weren't looking for a restaurant for tourists, we got the impression that they had a set list of restaurants to introduce to us along the way.
