Heritance Tea Factory is a hotel surrounded by tea plantations in Kandapola, outside Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka’s highlands. About 14 km from the town centre and more than 2,000 m above sea level, it offers green Ceylon tea-country scenery away from the bustle of town.
Its defining feature is a former tea factory converted into a hotel. Machinery and steel structures from its industrial past remain in the atrium. The building’s tea-making heritage and surrounding plantations create a distinctive stay.

Tea plantations and highland hills can be seen through wooden-framed windows. Sip tea by the window or explore the former factory features: it suits guests who want to enjoy the hotel stay itself. Tea tasting, tea plucking and visits to the mini tea factory also appeal to tea lovers.

We can discuss breakfast-inclusive or breakfast-and-dinner plans. Breakfast at the hotel is convenient. Available meal plans for your dates and room category will be confirmed when you enquire.
Breakfast and dinner are served as buffets. Discuss meal preferences around your sightseeing plans and hotel time.
As the hotel is about 14 km from central Nuwara Eliya, we generally recommend including breakfast and dinner. Eating at the hotel avoids journeys into town just for meals, leaving more time to enjoy the highland scenery and relax.
Superior Room
The standard category offers tea-estate views, wooden furniture and bright, calming interiors. It suits guests who want to relax while looking out over tea country. Choose a king-size bed or twin beds; the bathroom has a bathtub and shower. Official information lists king and twin rooms at about 20 m² and triples at about 45 m². Discuss party size and bedding with us if you need a triple.

Executive Floor Deluxe
On an upper floor, these rooms overlook tea-covered hills through large windows. The approximately 20 m² room has a king-size bed and suits guests who prioritise an elevated view over extra space. Enjoy the scenery from a window-side chair, then relax in the bathroom with a bathtub and shower.

Premium King/Twin Rooms
At about 32 m², these rooms are larger than the Superior and Executive Floor Deluxe categories. Classic furniture reflecting Nuwara Eliya’s “Little England” character is combined with modern amenities. Large windows and armchairs appeal to guests who value time in their room as well as the views. Request a king-size bed or twins. Only three rooms are in this category, so enquire early.

Junior Suite
The hotel’s single Junior Suite is on the executive floor. Its approximately 46 m² interior includes a king-size bed and private dining area. Panoramic tea-estate views, nearby villages and Hindu temples, and classic furnishings add to its appeal. It suits guests who want to relax on the sofa or enjoy tea in their room at an unhurried pace.

A king-size bed and wine cabinet make it appealing for an anniversary or a hotel-focused stay. Relax in the living room surrounded by large windows and highland scenery.
