Good news for travellers planning a wildlife safari in Sri Lanka!
Yala National Park’s Blocks 1 and 2 reopened to visitors on October 16, 2026, following a temporary closure due to dry weather conditions.
The affected areas had been closed since September 14 to protect wildlife and allow maintenance of the park’s road network.
With safari access restored, travellers planning to visit Yala can once again include these popular areas in their itineraries, subject to local operating conditions.
