On the shores of Kandalama Lake outside Dambulla, Heritance Kandalama is a resort hotel designed by Geoffrey Bawa. Its architecture brings in views of the forest and lake, while the infinity pool seems to merge with the water beyond. Heritance Tea Factory, in Kandapola outside Nuwara Eliya, is a hotel converted from a tea factory. Tea plantations surround this hill-country retreat, while machinery and steel structures from its factory days remain inside. It is ideal for a relaxed stay immersed in the atmosphere of Sri Lanka’s tea-growing country.

Jetwing Lighthouse

On the coast at Dadella near the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, Jetwing Lighthouse is a hotel designed by Geoffrey Bawa. Ocean-facing pools and gardens, and a spiral staircase decorated with sculpted figures, create spaces where architecture and art can be enjoyed together. Combine exploring Galle’s old town with a seaside resort stay.
