Mid-December to Mid-February Is Peak Season, According to Sri Lanka Tourism
Sri Lanka Tourism, the country’s official tourism promotion body, states that the peak season for travel to Sri Lanka runs from mid-December to mid-February.
December through February is also the peak tourist season along the southwestern coast. During this period, southwestern destinations such as Colombo, Galle and Mirissa tend to enjoy plenty of sunshine and relatively calm seas.
With visitors arriving from around the world, this is already one of the busiest times of year for travel to Sri Lanka.
As a result, bookings are concentrated during this period—not only for flights and popular hotels, but also for private cars and drivers.
